The Georgetown Palace Theatre will hold auditions for the holiday production of Miracle at 34th Street on Saturday, Sept 22nd, starting at 2 pm, Sunday, Sept 23rd, starting at 5:30 pm, and Monday, September 24th at 7 pm. Callbacks will be held Tuesday, Sept 24th, starting at 7 pm.
Performances will begin December 7th, and close December 30th. Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30pm, and Sunday at 2pm. We will also have Thursday night performances, Saturday matinees and possibly some Sunday evening performances. All auditions, rehearsals, and performances will be held at the Palace Theatre, 810 S. Austin Street, in Georgetown.
Do NOT come to this audition unprepared. It will be nearly impossible to consider you for a speaking role if you do.
For the adults, auditions will consist of 3 parts:
1. Dance: On Saturday afternoon, you will be taught a dance to be performed in small groups. Please wear appropriate attire and shoes to learn a brief dance combination. The show's choreography will be designed to showcase the strengths of the cast. This dance portion is required for everyone who is in the show.
2. A memorized monologue, no more than 1-2 minutes in length. This can be from any play, musical, movie, book, or personal experience. It must be memorized. If you don’t want to be considered for one of the principal speaking parts, you don’t have to perform a monologue.
3. Please prepare 16-32 bars of an up tempo song in the style of the show. (examples: The Music Man, Damn Yankees, The Pajama Game, Kiss Me, Kate, etc.)

An accompanist will be provided, please bring a copy of your sheet music.
You may also bring your own accompaniment on CD. However, please make sure there are no recorded vocals. You may NOT sing A cappella.

Callbacks will be by invitation only on Tuesday night, and consist of readings from the script and more singing.
For the children, auditions will consist of 2 parts:
1. Children will be asked to sing "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas." in small groups, and some will be asked to sing individually.

Dance: On Saturday, from 2 to 3pm, the children will be taught a dance to be performed in small groups.
The children who are called back to read for Susan or the D.A.’s son on Tuesday night at 6:30 will read from the script.

Please indicate if you are signing up your child for the Children’s Chorus. We will schedule in groups to perform the songs and monologues, from 5:00-6:00pm on Sunday, and from 6:30 to 7:30pm on Monday.
