Celebrated playwright-director Ramon Carver, un-retires, pens musical retrospective
Ten months ago, playwright Dr. Ramon Carver (pronounced ray-muhn), then 79, premiered his comedy-drama “The Village” at the Salado Silver Spur Theater. The delicious ghost story was his “swan song” to a long, illustrious career in the theatrical arts.
NOT! Sorry, but apparently it was something in the water in Austin’s highly-charged theatrical scene.
“We Had a Grand Time, Didn’t We, Kid?” premieres at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, at the Silver Spur Theater (108 Royal St.), featuring the longtime lyricist-composer in a one-man, upbeat musical retrospective of his decades of work.
Tickets are $10. For reservations, call the box office at 254-947-3456. For directions or more info, visit www.saladosilverspur.com. Attendance is limited to 150 persons.
