The Gaslight Baker Theatre in Lockhart is holding an additional audition for Sirens by Deborah Zoe Laufer Saturday, January 13 at 2 p.m. at the theatre at 2l16 S. Main Street (click for map).
When Sam first fell in love with Rose he wrote her a song which has been covered by every recording artist and translated into every language and every genre. After years of marriage, Sam has lost his muse and on an anniversary cruise with Rose, he jumps ship (literally) upon hearing the song of the Siren.
On her island he must struggle with the terrors of middle age, the tortures of creative failure and the desire to live in his past rather then face his uncertain future. He must find a way to get home – to his wife. And if he does, how can he possibly win her back?
Production Dates: March 8 – 23, 2013
Characters: Sam: Male age 45 – 65; Rose, Sam’s Wife age 45 – 65; Leah/Siren/Waitress age 18 – 30; Richard: Character is age 45 – 65, played by an actor in his early 20s.
