ZACH Theater announces auditions for If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, based on the book by Laura Joffe Numeroff and adapted for the stage by Jody Davidson. Auditions take place on Wednesday December 14 from 10 a.m. until 4 pm and Thursday December 15, 2011 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the ZACH Whisenhunt Classroom Studio located at 15426 Toomey Road. Looking for male actors ages 18-35 to play opposite ZACH veteran actor Martin Burke.
It all starts so simply – a day like any other. A boy stays home alone when his mom goes to visit Aunt Rose. With a few cookies and a good spot to read, everything seems so perfect. When the Mouse shows up, hungry – talkative – and not to be ignored. What can the boy do but give the Mouse a cookie? So... what do you get when an energetic mouse and an obliging boy spend the afternoon together? Cookie crumbs, spilled milk, and a whole lot of outrageous physical comedy that will have you rolling in the aisles.
Rehearsals begin on Tuesday January 31, 2012. The show will run for schools and families in the Whisenhunt Theatre February 16 through March 30, 2012.
The first school performance will be on Thursday February 16 and opening day is Saturday, February 18, 2012. Performances will be Tuesdays through Saturdays weekly with the final performance on Friday March 30. Actors should audition only if they will have daytime availability in February and March. Matinee performances will be at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
Please be prepared to read a side from the play. Click here to view or download the two-page side.
Actors will be seen by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, please send an email with your name, phone number, email address, and the time you are available to nmiller@zachtheatre.org. All actors should bring a headshot and resume to the audition.
