Conceived by award-winning interdisciplinary artist Daniel Alexander Jones with composer Bobby Halvorson, JOMAMA JONES: RADIATE is part concert, part revival - featuring the triumphant return of legendary expatriate performer Jomama Jones. A mythical R&;B diva who left the United States after a string of hits in the 1980s, Jomama Jones returns from the darkness as a lone star with a singular purpose – to awaken the comeback in us all, through her music and live performance.

Jones is accompanied by her collaborator and musical director, Bobby Halvorson, her backing vocalists, the Sweet Peaches - the extraordinary Helga Davis and Laura Jean Anderson, and a knockout band. She also welcomes a series of very special guests from the Austin community. Jomama Jones shares songs of resilience and regeneration as she recounts her rise to the stratosphere, her self-imposed exile from the U.S. and surprising observations of the America to which she has returned.

"RADIATE glows..." said the New York Times, "making it hard to resist this sequined earth-mother's soulful embrace."

“…A fully fledged creation, complete with a hot band and a powerful message about staying human in tough times” – Minneapolis City Pages

“Jones is a brilliant persona, full of love, light, and beautiful lyrics and stories.” – Jill Dolan, The Feminist Spectator

“Performed with fearless style ... [Jomama Jones] will have you wiggling and bouncing in your seat... a fusion of retro-funk, camp and theatricality that begs for yet another comeback.”– David Cote, NY-1 News

Come spend an evening with the woman Backstage Magazine called "a true theatrical original!”
