Theatre, dance, puppetry and references to really bad old movies collide as neo-burlesque artist Amy Lynn Budd navigates the experience of an unexpected physical break down. The Thing That Ate My Brain…Almost examines Ms. Budd’s relationships with her brain tumor, her loved ones, and the world of medicine by combining performing art forms to affirm that creativity and curiosity are the best medicine.
First produced by Perishable Theater in Providence Rhode Island, The Thing That Ate My Brain...Almost was presented for one performance only at H Street Theater in Washington, DC as part of the VSA International Festival in June 2010.
"a unique production with universal appeal, "The Thing That Ate My Brain...Almost"is one 'wild ride' that everyone should take" -Molly Lederer, Providence Monthy
"..wrenched the hearts of an entire audience so loudly they laughed themselves to death" -audience member
