OPEN GENERAL AUDITIONS 2013-2014 SEASON for AUSTIN

Keith & Margo’s MURDER MYSTERY TEXAS is casting for MURDER at MAGGIANO’S, directed by Robert Banks. This is a Dramatic Improv Troupe in an Immersion Theatre setting in AUSTIN at Maggiano’s Restaurants. A non-traditional approach to audience-participatory theatre. Set in a modern-day backdrop of a homicide investigation and crime scene.


Performances for the public are once to twice a month initially. Evening performances. Private corporate parties are scheduled as they come in and can be more frequent. In AUSTIN. Rehearsals off flexible scheduling. Not a huge time commitment. TROUPE MEMBER COMMITMENT: Flexible. You are always able to audition for and to do other projects.

ACCEPTING RESUMES FOR ROLES:

(1) Immediate Openings for experienced supporting actors to play SUSPECTS and MURDERERS -- Comfortable with reality-based, serious, dramatic improvisation:

• Ingenues/Femme Fatales -- Need 3 attractive actresses who can play either sweet or sexy... with good figures

• Leading Men/Gigolos -- Need 3 attractive actors who can play either nice guys or “players”... with good physiques

• Thugs/Heavies -- Need 4 physically intimidating men who can play menacing characters believably [mafia-drug cartel-criminal types]

• Character Men -- Need 3 actors [executive-lawyer-professor-doctor types]

• Character Women -- Need 2 actresses [professional-executive-Trophy Wife-Mom types]

• Nice, upscale casual wardrobe required for most gigs

*Non-Equity principals will receive a stipend starting at $65-$75 per performance... plus 3-course dinner for some selected roles (rehearsals not paid)

(2) Immediate Openings for 4 new actors/acting students to portray minor supporting roles of ASSASSINS and INNOCENT BYSTANDER VICTIMS:

• Beginner actors welcome

*Will receive a stipend of $40 per performance. Actor is released after his/her “death”

IMPORTANT NOTES: All races, ethnicities, and nationalities welcome. Bi-lingualism a huge plus. We are wanting a liberal, international, color-blind troupe.

AUDITION DETAILS: Mr. Banks will be taking auditions by Skype [computer-to-computer] on Wednesdays between the hours of 1:00 PM and 8:30 PM. Beginning in the month of May and on through the year.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS: For Murderer auditioners: Prepare a serious, dramatic 30-second monologue, It must show anger and rage. Some improvisational situations may be presented to you
