The Story Wranglers is a creative writing and performance program of the Paramount Theatre in which teaching artists go into 3rd grade classrooms and teach students the fundamentals of creative writing. After the program is finished, we take all the student’s stories and give them to professional actors and musicians to transform them into a musical/comedy/variety show.
This is where you come in. We are seeking Music Directors for our spring shows. Your duties would include: attending all rehearsals, writing and performing songs based on children’s stories, accompanying the skits in the show with music and attending the show. Reliable transportation is a must. Musical improvisation skills are strongly preferred.
There are 3 shows this spring ranging from March to May and rehearsal periods are fairly short. You will be compensated for your work.

The historic Paramount Theatre is looking for teachers/actors/improvisers/musicians for The Paramount Story Wranglers. The Story Wranglers are a company of professional performers and educators who adapt and perform 3rd grade students’ original work in Austin Public Schools. The performance is a fast paced, musically inspired sketch comedy show that is performed for the student writers and their school. The performers will be paid.
We will also be auditioning for teaching artists at this time. Auditions are Wednesday, December 11 at 6 p.m.

The historic Paramount Theatre is looking for actors/improvisers/musicians/pianists for The Story Wrangler program.
The Story Wranglers are a company of professional performers and educators who adapt and perform original 3rd grade students’ work in Austin Public Schools. The performance is a fast paced musical-sketch comedy show that is performed for the student writers and their school. The performers will be paid. Actors will also be considered for other employment opportunities with The Paramount and State Theaters.
Auditions will take place in two separate sessions from 6:30 – 7:30p & 8:00 - 9:00 p.m. on both Monday, October 1st and Tuesday, October 2nd 2012 at the State Theatre at 719 Congress Avenue in downtown Austin (click for map).
