The season closes with Little Shop of Horrors, the other-worldly musical satirization of sci-fi, b-grade movies set to “a gleeful 1960’s- pastiche score.” (New York Times) Seymour, a down-and out skid row floral assistant becomes an overnight sensation when he discovers an exotic plant with a mysterious craving for fresh blood. Soon “Audrey II” grows into an ill-tempered, foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore who offers him fame and fortune in exchange for feeding its growing appetite. In the Vex version, Audrey II comes alive as a seductive woman amidst the crooning sounds of rock-n-roll, doo-wop, and mo-town in May/June 2013.
