Sunday, March 15 reception at 5 p.m. (reservations requested 321-6283)

Following Sunday's performance there is a catered reception with appetizers, beer, and wine to celebrate. The director, cast, and crew (Danne Absher, Randy Combs, Kody and Teri Dyer) will then take the production to Ft. Worth where it will compete at the state level in AACTFest '09 American Association of Community Theatres. This is a national non-profit theaters one-act competition.

Bastrop Opera House has entered the festival seven consecutive times over the last fourteen years (the event is held only in the odd-numbered years) and five times has gone to state from the preliminary competition. Twice out of the five times our community theatre has advanced to the regional festival. The Opera House has received numerous individual awards for acting, directing, costume and graphic designs, and theatre professionalism. Every one of these award-winning productions was directed Chester Eitze.

This year ten companies will compete at the State Festival sponsored by Texas Nonprofit Theatres for the honor of representing Texas at the regional festival.

Call (512) 321-6283 and leave a message how many in your party will be attending Sunday's reception.
