The Rep Theatre in Wimberley is holding auditions for all the male roles in Bus Stop by William Inge and directed by Lee Stubbs.


The play is set in 1955 in a road side restaurant that serves as a rest stop for the bus that runs between Kansas City and points west. A snowstorm forces 5 bus passengers and 3 locals to spend an evening together. During their time together, the quirky characters reveal themselves and some unusual pairings occur. It is a classic American romantic comedy.


Characters:


Bo-20's, a cowboy with a quick temper. Romantic lead.

Virgil-40-50's, a cowboy who serves as a kind of father-figure for Bo.


Dr. Lymon-50-60's, a drunken, pompous, lecherous former college professor.


Carl-40-50's, the bus driver who is having an affair with Grace, the restaurant owner.


Will-30-50's, the sheriff who keeps order with a strong presence.


Auditions will be held at the Katherine Anne Porter School at 515 FM 2325 in Wimberley beginning at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, September 10th. Please call the producer, Whitney Marlett at (512) 395-7043 for an audition time slot.
