Poison Apple Initiative

Poison Apple Initiative is stoked to announce auditions for its first show of the 2011-2012 season, "Housebreaking" by Jakob Holder.

Chad, a low-level worker drone, has grown sick of his life. After an altercation one night at a bar he brings home a homeless man named Carmine and gives him everything: his wallet, his whiskey, his house, and "custody" over his alcoholic father and troubled sister. When Carmine is in the shower he dons the man's clothes and steals off into the night. Two years later he breaks back into the house to find that Carmine has become the new "Chad" and he is expected to become the new "Carmine". A sharp, obsidian comedy that questions how responsible someone can actually be in creating their own identity.

CHARACTERS TO BE CAST:

Chad- early/ late 30s; pseudo-intellectual; dead-end job slave.

Carmine- mid/ late 30s; homeless, quiet, unexercised- not unintelligent; wary

Dad- late 40s/ mid 50s; lost in life, televised-sports enthusiast; mentally stressed.
