Auditions in Austin for Dear Penelope, a new original comedy, Southwest Theatre Productions, October 12, 2013

Southwest Theatre Productions is holding auditions from 2-5 pm on October 12th for Dear Penelope, a new original comedy in sitcom format. Four women fall from grace at a mega-media news corporation and are banished to the company basement to write an advice column. They have one chance to get their old jobs back and all they have to do is hijack the most spectacular story of the year.

Casting will be held at St. George’s Episcopal Church, 4301 I-35, on the eastern side of the highway, south of Airport Rd. - click for map. Audition packet with sides, storyline, and character descriptions will be emailed to you in advance. You may also perform a short monologue that shows your comedic timing. 

Performance dates are March 15-16, 2014 at the Dougherty Arts Center in Austin, Texas.This show does not conflict with FronteraFest rehearsals or performance dates. There will be additional performances in 2014, dates TBD, which may be recast. Rehearsals to begin late January 2014, with two read-through and blocking rehearsals in November.

Darby Stills - Adult male, 45 years of age or older. Sophisticated corporate officer. Refined, not cold.
Wendell Fisser - Adult male, any age. Mailroom clerk. Macabre, understated humor.
Jolly Kincaid - Adult female, any age. Sweet, bubbly, deep-hearted advice columnist. Not ditzy, but definitely not an intellect.
