Present Company Performance Classes for Youth Mirroring The Taming of The Shrew, March 24 - May 5

Present Company Theatre, Austin TXPresent Company, the innovative theatre collective that brings you Shakespeare On the Farm, is currently accepting students for its amateur production experience, Future Company: Shakespeare On the Farm!

The Taming of The Shrew William ShakespeareEver wonder what it’s like to be in a professional production? Kids grades 6-12 are invited to have a unique experience in Present Company’s Future Company, an amateur production that mirrors this spring’s Shakespeare On the Farm, The Taming of the Shrew. Students are cast in a shortened version of the play and rehearse over a 6-week period, culminating in a performance on Rain Lily Farm, using our professional set and props. Future Company actors pair up with their Present Company counterparts during rehearsals for The Taming of the Shrew (to play Fridays-Sundays April 20 - May 6 at Rain Lily Farm) to gain insight into an actor’s process and character development. This unique experience emphasizes both the personal and professional growth of its participants, providing them with a real look inside the creative and technical aspects of rehearsing and performing a professional production.

Saturdays, March 24th-May 5th*, at Central Presbyterian Church, 10-2 pm, $275. *Matinee performance May 5th at Rain Lily Farm, 1pm. Payment plans available, 10% discount when you sign up with a buddy/sibling. Email presentcompanyaustin@gmail.com for info. Space is limited so register early!
