Fairly Silly Fairy Tales
participatory improv for children
by The Flying Theatre Machine
at the Hideout Theatre
2 p.m. Sundays through September 21
What happens when some of Austin's best improvisers get together and wonder why there's no improv their kids can watch? They decide to put together Flying Theater Machine.
Born in 2007, FTM aims to fill a shocking gap in Austin's improv scene: improv for kids and their grown-ups.
We want to make sure that everyone has a great time, so we mix it up with games, stories, music, juggling and a little bit of whatever we found in the closet. We know how much kids love to take part, so we designed a show that gets kids involved, shouting out the suggestions we base the stories on, and even coming up on stage to make it all happen.
Plus, we get our friends to come and help us with a song, magic trick, or special story each week. Take a look at some of our past and upcoming guests.
