Calling all Actors! ActOne Series~Vol XVI, "Writers Choice" -- Three performances of fresh one-Act Plays!Global Writers-Local Actors-Exceptional Quality!
We are looking for actors ages 12-99, beginner or seasoned, of all colors, sizes, and ages are welcome! No preparation needed - be ready for cold readings from the scripts and a brief interview.
Our theme for this ActOne Series is "Writer's Choice", so writers get to tell us what's on their mind!Audition Dates: Thursdays March 14 & 21, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign-in at the Little Carver Civic Center, behind the big Carver Community Cultural Center, 226 N. Hackberry, SATX, 78202 (click for map) Audition results posted via our website &voice mail on Sunday, March 23, 8 pm. Performances will be May 10 - 12. Rehearsals will be evenings M&W or T&Th (no Friday rehearsals).
Some scripts may contain mature language and themes and will not be censored
About AOS. The ActOne Series was developed to provide avenue and a voice to writers. Once the pieces are selected, local playwrights will have the opportunity to to observe some of the rehearsals and address questions from directors and actors. The process culminates in two evenings of performances, when the writers get the opportunity to see their works come to life, local actors show their stuff on stage and the San Antonio community gets the opportunity to celebrate the work of their neighbors, friends and promising new theatre voices.
