Auditions in Georgetown for Music Man by Meredith Willson, Georgetown Palace Theatre, July 27-28, 2013
The Georgetown Palace Theatre announces Music Man Auditions
An affectionate paean to Smalltown, U.S.A. of a bygone era, Meredith Wilson's The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys' band he vows to organize - this despite the fact he doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain's fall.
First Audition is Saturday, July 27th from 1pm-5pm
-- is an open audition that will consist of singing
-- performers will be required to sing 36 measures of a song that supports the role they are auditioning for
Second Audition is Sunday, July 28th from 5pm-9pm
-- is an open audition that will consist of singing
-- performers will be required to sing 36 measures of a song that supports the role they are auditioning for
Dance Auditions are Monday July 29th, from 7pm-10pm
-- by invitation only; involves movement, please wear loose and comfortable clothing
Callbacks are Tuesday July 30th
-- by invitation only; will consist of reading scripts
Read through is Tuesday August 6th; Opening Night is September 27th.
