An acting class for WOMEN, both straight and Lesbian, utilizing the works of award-winning playwrights. This class is an opportunity to explore all roles, male and female alike. Once you truly embrace that part of yourself that allows the freedom to feel, express yourself honestly and understand completely, then your abilities are limitless.

All levels accepted.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Marian Jones is a veteran actor, director, and producer, who has returned to Austin after 30 years working in Los Angeles, where she founded and served as Artistic Director of the first and only Lesbian-focused theatre company in LA, The Ivy Theatre. Jones was also the first female Artistic Director for LA's only gay theatre company, The Celebration Theatre, where she produced two one-act play festivals of lesbian works, totaling 30 one-act plays. In LA, she also produced the Ovation Award-winning play Valsetz and the Drama Logue Award-winning play Against The Rising Sea.

In February, 2012, Jones made her Austin directing debut at the Dougherty Arts Center, with "Cafe at the End of Time," an ensemble play by Sue Carroll Moore, about an aging LGBT bar in the Florida Keys and the colorful characters who call it home.
