At first glance, April Lundquist seems like your average high school freshman in 1970s Brooklyn. She's sporting bellbottoms and dancing disco like all of her friends. But when the Mafia shows up on her doorstep--literally--April finds herself confronted with some tough choices to make. Will she be able to save her brother, navigate boyfriends, and capture the perfect kiss, all while keeping her cool? Find out in ZACH's world premier production of this new musical for the whole family, based on the hit teen novel by Texas author April Lurie!

The audience is invited and encouraged to wear 70's or mobster style clothes to the show.

This project is funded and supported in part by the City of Austin through the Cultural Arts Division and by a grant from the Texas Commission on the Arts which believes that a great nation deserves great art.

Sponsored in part by Applied Materials and The Austin American-Statesman.

About the ZACH Showstoppers
This pre-professional youth performance troupe was founded in 2008 by ZACH’s Performing Arts School in collaboration with Jaclyn Loewenstein, Adam Roberts and the late Lana Leeds, to provide middle and high-school students with intense preparation for a potential career in musical theatre. Students audition annually, and accepted members receive weekly training in musical theatre technique and learn fully choreographed production numbers that they perform at major events in and around Austin. The 2009-10 Company was featured in ZACH’s Stage Hand’s Cast Call benefit, A Texas Christmas Carol at the Long Center and at ZACH’s 2010 Red, Hot & Soul fundraiser.
