Seeking Production Stage Manager for Austin Community College Drama Department roduction Beauty Is The Best Priest: Short Plays Of The Harlem Renaissance, d Directed by, Florinda Bryant, Feliz McDonald, Marcus McQuirter, Zell Miller III.

Representing the cultural flowering of Harlem, from the 1920's-1930's, this production includes prize-winning works by African-American women, including Zora Neale Hurston, May Miller, Alice Dunbar-Nelson, Eulalie Spence and Ottie Graham— who were among the most influential playwrights, poets, novelists, journalists, and activists of the era. Opens Friday, February 22nd. Runs February 22nd, 23rd and 24th and March 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm, The Boyd Vance Theater, George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center.

Job Start Date: 1/11/2013  Job End Date: 3/8/2013  Production Meetings Weekly, January 14, 2013-February 15, 2013

The position requires someone who is able to communicate effectively and to work independently within a theatrical production setting. Stage manager would manage ASMs, help run auditions, create and manage rehearsal schedule, take notes during rehearsals, run backstage operations during the run, coordinating cast/crew comp ticket requests with the box office, create production book and prompt script, perform any other such tasks expected of stage management.
