Just what are SOAP's?
These are one act plays which follow strict UIL guidelines wherein senior students in the Theatre program choose a standard play then they whittle it down to 'One Act' that's no longer than 40 minutes, tops...making sure to maintain the integrity of the plot (which is no easy task) and then they carefully cast the play using fellow students within the Theatre department.

The student directors oversee rehearsals for several weeks, block all the scenes, design/develop the sets, come up with costume schemes and then...it's showtime!

All in all, it's a very intense process for the seniors involved and they put 150% into their work. And the student actors and technical crews involved in the shows are just as dedicated. But what would make all their effort even more rewarding than simply 'getting a grade' would be if YOU could come to see them perform!

***If YOU can make it out to the school to see the shows, it would mean the world to the kids...and one day, when your 'Star' is putting on his or her SOAP...they'll be hoping that people just like YOU will come to see them, too!***
