A Christmas Carol, the Musical auditions

The Georgetown Palace Theatre announces auditions for A Christmas Carol, The Musical directed by Cliff Butler and choreographed by Danny Herman and Rocker Verastique. All auditions will at Georgetown Palace Theater at 810 S. Austin Ave in Georgetown.

Charles Dickens' classic gets the full Broadway treatment by the Broadway team of Alan Menken ("Beauty and the Beast," "Little Mermaid,"), Lynn Ahrens ("Ragtime," "Seussical") and Mike Okrent ("Crazy For You," "Me and My Girl.")
Called by The New York Times "a tonic for adults, and for children a transfixing journey," this spectacular musical extravaganza ran for ten years at Madison Square Garden. This version of "A Christmas Carol" timelessly retains its emotional power and pure joy, thanks to the marvelously-told story by Ockrent and Ahrens, and the Menken/Ahrens score filled with beautiful melodies and emotional lyrics. In fact, their song "A Place Called Home" has become a holiday standard.

SINGING AUDITIONS will be held Saturday, Sep 10th from 2-5 pm and Sunday, Sep 11th from 2-5pm. Auditioners are asked to sing a memorized song, no longer than 1min in length. Piano accompaniment will be provided, or you may bring your own accompaniment on a CD. No singing a cappella please. Please sing only 36-48 measures of a song to include the money note. No monologues. Children ages 7-12 yrs old do not need to prepare a song. They will be taught a piece at the audition.
