Auditions in San Antonio for The Importance of Being Earnest and for The Firebugs, Classic Theatre, May 20 and 21

Classic Theatre San AntonioThe Classic Theatre of San Antonio announces Auditions on Sunday, May 20, 6-9 p.m. and Monday May 21, 7-10 p.m. for The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde, directed by Allan S. Ross and for The Firebugs by Max Frisch, directed by Diane Malone. Auditions by appointment: 210-589-8450. Auditioners are asked to prepare a memorized modern one-minute monologue (comedy or drama). Please bring a recent headshot and resume. Callbacks Tuesday, May 22 if needed.

The Importance of Being Earnest (Dover Thrift edition)

All actors receive stipends.

'Earnest' dates are August 10-26 and rehearsals begin late June All roles open except that of Lady Bracknell who will be played by Jo Grabow. The ages may shift slightly based on the combination of actors selected. The play will be set in 1895.




The Firebugs by Max Frisch (image: Hill & Wang edition)The Firebugs by Max Frisch, translated by Mordecai Gorelik, directed by Diane Malone, will run October 12-28. Rehearsals begin September 1. All roles open: 3 Men, 2 Women plus a chorus of Firemen/women that will also include a policeman, a professor, and a widow.
