The Georgetown Palace Theatre will host, live on stage,Georgetown's Got Talent, the semi-finals of a regional competition open to children and adults of all ages and talents. The competition will take place Sunday, June 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the Georgetown Palace Theatre, 810 S. Austin Avenue (click for map)
Auditions will take place in May and June at several Georgetown venues, including All Things Kids, Uptown Social, Ken’z Guitars, Roots Bistro, Mel’s Lone Star Lanes and A Premium Blend Music Studio. Each location will select the winners of their audition event who will then go on to the semi-finals at The Palace Theatre. The Master of Ceremonies of the night will present the performances to the audience, and a panel of judges will be on stage evaluating the 16 acts. The judges will have the task of selecting 6 finalists at the end of the evening. Tickets will be available to watch this live show at The Palace.
Videos of the 6 finalist performances will be placed on line, with the final winner to be determined by the highest number of online votes received during the 2-week period following the live show. The winner will receive a $1000 cash prize as well as a professional video shoot – this audition video will be submitted to the “America’s Got Talent” production team to be considered for their 2013 season.
Audition registrations are now being accepted via www.GeorgetownsGotTalent.com. Adults and children, individuals and groups, from any city in the region are encouraged to participate. Tickets for the live show will go on sale May 1st and can then be purchased via the Palace website www.thegeorgetownpalace.org. Ticket proceeds will benefit The Palace Theatre Guild.
