Upcoming: GO! Grants Showcase, Mark Cohen New Works Festival, University of Texas, September 20


Mark Cohen New Works Festival University of TexasThe Executive Committee of the Mark Cohen New Works Festival 2013 and Faculty Producers proudly announce the 2012 Go! Grant showcase alongside the online application launch for the 2013 Cohen New Works Festival! Events are at the Winship Drama Building, University of Texas, from 5 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 20.
The Go! Grant Showcase is where artifacts, installations and performances will be presented by undergraduate and graduate student projects that received a small stipend in the form of a Go! Grant this past spring. Each of the eight projects will be featured in various locations on the first floor of the Winship Drama Building.

In preparation for the highly anticipated 2013 Cohen New Works Festival, the Executive Committee will also reveal the online application for the 2013 Festival. A small introductory celebration of new work, the 2013 Kick-Off Event is an opportunity where graduate and undergraduate students are welcome to meet and greet about potential project collaborations, and are also given the opportunity to volunteer for subcommittees within each executive committee.

Students within the Department of Theatre and Dance will be able to pick up their major’s passes at the Kick-Off event, and there will also be FREE FOOD!

The Festival is known for being the largest collegiate event of its kind, producing approximately 30 selections of new work in a variety of mediums and spaces in and around Winship Drama Building and University of Texas campus. The Go! Grant Showcase/2013 New Works Festival Kick-Off event is the official inauguration of the largest celebration of new work in the region: the Cohen New Works Festival presented by the University Co-op!
