New Clown Theater Performances and Workshops by Mark Gindick, New York City performer and featured clown in the PBS’ acclaimed documentary CIRCUS!, and Austin’s Caitlin Reilly of Schave & Reilly at the Salvage Vanguard Theater.
Gnap! Theater Projects with Schave & Reilly and Salvage Vanguard Theater present three evenings of new solo physical comedy and clown shows Wednesday-Friday, January 2 - 4 at 8 pm at Salvage Vanguard Theater. A talk-back session will follow, hosted by Michael Bongar, a special events and entertainment producer from New York. Two shows lead the evening bill, with a short new piece by Austin’s Caitlin Reilly of Schave & Reilly, “It’s Just Reilly.” Mark Gindick performs “Wing-Man,” his original theatrical piece without one spoken word and winner of United Solo Theatre Festival’s BEST ONE-MAN SHOW.

Scarves take flight, umbrellas dance, and the occasional bomb goes off in the new slapstick tale of redemptive grief, acceptance through denial, and love from the creators of "Department of Angels".

. . .Some Other Day is the newest slapstick adventure from Schave & Reilly. Featuring the unique clowning of Ben Schave and Caitlin Reilly and a score by Adam Sultan, ...Some Other Day delves into the capricious nature of weather. Slow-motion tango, bad smells, lost luggage,and falling in love at the bus-stop are but a few of the rain-drenched vignettes in this lovely and emotional clown play.

This performance is raising funds to offset travel expense to the Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival. (Please enjoy the additional entertainments of Special Guests Flourish & Fool and Adam Sultan).

The Art of Depicting Nature As It Is Seen By Toads is a progressive art event featuring two men and two toads engaged in a two-hour endurance test. Part theater, part performance art, all exploration, The Art of Depicting ….challenges perceptions of human behavior and reality.
