Ti-Jean and his Brothers
by legendary West Indian Playwright Derek Walcott
directed by Marcus McQuirter
A co-production of the theatre department of Austin Community College and Uprise! Arts Productions
ACC main stage theatre, 1212 Rio Grande
November 12 - 14 and 19 - 21, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., Sundays at 2 p.m.
Ti Jean is a theatrical adaptation (in verse) of a West Indian folktale. Three brothers are challenged by the Devil to make him feel human emotion—anger, rage, weakness, etc. Success means riches and happiness but failure means devilish torment in the ultimate game of high stakes! Each tries, but only one can succeed. This spectacular work is a fable with music; a political allegory and a morality play written in the late 50’s and never before produced in Texas. The play will be directed by ACC Professor of Drama Marcus McQuirter.

$6 general, $3 students and seniors; all proceeds benefit the Drama and Dance Scholarship Fund
