Casting Teens in Three Supporting Roles in Elvis Musical 'All Shook Up,'Tex-Arts, Lakeway

TexARTS is looking for talented young male actors ages 13-18 for an upcoming production of the rockin’ ‘50s musical All Shook Up.
Inspired by Twelfth Night and other Shakespearean comedies and built around songs made famous by Elvis Presley, All Shook Up is a fun jukebox musical comedy. It takes place in 1955, somewhere in middle America, where one girl’s dream and a surprise visit from a mysterious leather-jacketed, guitar-playing stranger help a small town to discover the magic of romance and the power of rock & roll. Among the 24 songs featured in the score are classics such as “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Love me Tender,” Don’t Be Cruel,” “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” and of course the title tune.

All Shook Up rehearses from 10am to 1pm Saturdays beginning immediately and on Fridays from 6 to 8pm on an as needed basis. Performances are February 1-2 and February 8-9. Actors should be prepared to be called for technical and dress rehearsals during the weeks of production.

Jim Haller - Natalie’s widowed father. Middle-aged and messy, he still longs for his wife

Dennis – An awkward young man. He aspires to be a dentist.

Dean Hyde – Matilda’s (the mayor) teenage son. He has spent his youth at military boarding schools and he has never disobeyed his mother.

Ft Hood Suicide Prevention Show Seeks Two Male Actors

WILL Interactive is currently looking for 2 male actors between the ages of 20 and 35 years old to be considered understudies for our theatrical programs at Fort Hood.

WILL Interactive is a 15 year old company in Potomac, Maryland that creates interactive immersive video experiences on ethical decision making for a lot of clients, but our biggest is the Army. Five years ago The Army asked us to create a program dealing with Suicide Prevention. That film, "Beyond the Front", has now been seen by the entire Army. It has been used in all of the Army's programing on Suicide Prevention.

Three years ago Fort Hood asked us to create a live stage version of that program for their post. We created LIFELINES, an Interactive live experience for the Soldiers at Fort Hood. It is performed once a week, and has been going on for 3 years. This past summer they asked us to create a partner program dealing with Domestic Violence Prevention, called HOMETEAM. This program is also performed once a week, and will continue through the end of September 2013.

The 2 shows are performed with the same 4 actors (2 male and 2 female). We also have 4 understudies for this program (2 male and 2 Female). We are currently looking for new understudies for these programs. It is a "paid if you perform" position, with paid rehearsals. You are guaranteed 1 performance every 3 months.

Performers must fit military height/weight standards (click to view standards), must be willing to cut their hair, have a clean shaven face, and must have a flexible day job schedule as understudies may be called up with 24 hours notice or less to perform. An ability to quickly memorize lines and think on your feet a must.

The show is a fast-paced comedy covering all of Shakespeare’s plays in one evening.

Now auditioning for an original rock opera based on the immortal novel Moby Dick by Hermann Melville, to be performed in the FronteraFest Short Fringe. Casting the following parts:

- Ishmael: male, Caucasian, 20-40. An experienced sailor, but one who's never whaled before. Ragged. Good strong rock vocals, baritone/tenor.

- Queequeg: male, Asian/Native/Pacific Islander/Black/South Asian, 20-50. An inscrutable pagan tribesman from a distant shore. Looking for deep powerful voices, strong builds, imposing physique.

- Captain Ahab: male, Caucasian, 30-60. The vengeance-seeking captain who'll stop at nothing to destroy Moby Dick. An epic cross between Dio and Lemmy.

- Starbuck: male, Caucasian, 30-50. A brooding sailor who believes he's on the side of right. Baritone/tenor rock vocals.

This summer, the tribe of the Age of Aquarius will be protesting the war, freeing their love, letting their hair down, and baring it all.
