The Austin School for the Performing and Visual Arts will stage their annual Winter Showcase on Thursday, December 15th, at The Acoustic Sanctuary in the Central Christian Church downtown. The free performance begins at 7 p.m.
The event will present performances and artistic displays from the school's students. Award-winning local singer and featured performer Carrie Elkin will join the students for the family-friendly event.
Established in 2006, the Austin School for the Performing and Visual Arts (ASPVA) has served hundreds of students as part of their community outreach programs that bring arts education to participating public schools and other student organizations as part of an after-school and summer camp enrichment experience. The group opened their new downtown location in the educational building of the historic Central Christian Church facility, allowing for a full-time day school where students can prepare for college while honing their talents in the arts.
