THE WEDDING SINGER -- it’s 1985 and rock-star wannabe Robbie Hart is New Jersey’s favorite wedding singer. He’s the life of the party, until his own fiancee leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie makes every wedding as disastrous as his own. Then when he meets Julia, an admiring young waitress, Robbie falls madly in love. Only trouble is Julia is about to be married to a Wall Street shark, and unless Robbie can pull off the performance of a decade, the girl of his dreams will be gone forever. With a score that pays loving homage to the pop songs of the 1980s, The Wedding Singer takes us back to a time when hair was big, greed was good, collars were up, and a wedding singer might just be the coolest guy in the room.

Big ensemble with a lot of great small parts all ages and all types needed. Ages 18 and Up are invited to audition for this show. All auditioners will be considered for all parts. Dancers and non-Dancers are needed. Strong Male Singer/Actor and Guitarist for the Role of Robbie.

PRODUCTION DATES: March 8, 9, 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, 23, 28, 29 and 30; April 4, 5, and 6. Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. Sundays 4 pm

Rehearsals begin on Monday February 3rd from 7—10:30pm. Rehearsals will be on Mondays — Thursdays; and Saturdays as needed.

Prepare: Vocals-Prepare a song of your choice in the style of the character desired or a selection from The Wedding Singer: The Musical. Piano accompaniment only or sing an uptempo or ballad, 32 bars in length and stay within the genre of the show. Music in a Rock/Pop genre from the 1980s (recorded music for this selection will be accepted for this selection only). Absolutely no vocals on the track. Please come familiar with the music from the show as you may be asked to sing on the spot. An accompanist will be provided. Dance: Standard, 1980′s Dance Style. Training in jazz dance is encouraged. A combination will be taught to you, no need to prepare a piece.

Please bring a current headshot and performance resume, along with any conflicts, vacations etc. You must be able to make all performances to be cast.

If you play an instrument (guitar or bass piano will be provided for the show), please bring it to the audition and show us your skills. If you can break dance or have other strong 80s dance ability let us know! If you want to try out for one of the impersonators, be ready to show us your best imitation!

Only one role to be cast: Male Lead who has multiple roles:

• Mr. Postman: A bouncy, energetic, slightly mysterious postman.
• Washer Repairman: A big lug. Probably wears work coverall & tool belt, carries toolbox etc.
• Mrs. Halo: A sweet middle-aged lady with a midwestern accent (she's from Minnesota). She can be dressed in bathrobe, slippers and curlers.
• Mr. Right: A dashing, debonair, good-natured man. A cross between Ward Cleaver and a matinee idol. Right out of a Sears Catalogue or an arrow ad come to life. Although very strong and confident, he should not be lecherous or leering; he's very polite to women and very charming.
• Milt Dudman: A nerd. Loud, obnoxious, inappropriate and unappealing.
• Johnny Angel: Earnest young man. Tries to be cool but is really just a regular guy.

Sings sweet solo up to G (can be falsetto). Must belt strong F. Falsetto backups to B flat. Bass to A below middle C. In "Mr. Postman" should be comfortable with a strong pop sound to G flat.

SUDS is loaded with good clean fun, bubbling energy, and over 40 songs that topped the charts, including "Mr. Postman," “Where the Boys Are,” “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’,” “Respect,” and “Do You Want to Know a Secret.”

The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas is based on a story by King that was inspired by the real-life Chicken Ranch in La Grange, Texas. In this telling, it is the late 1970s, and the infamous brothel has been operating outside of fictional Gilbert, Texas for more than a century. It is under the proprietorship of Miss Mona Stangley, having been left to her by the original owner. While taking care of her girls, she is also on good terms with the local sheriff, Ed Earl Dodd. When crusading television reporter, Melvin P. Thorpe (based on real-life Houston news personality Marvin Zindler), decides to make the illegal activity a political and moral issue, loosened morals, belts and politicians abound.

Songs include: 20 Fans, Lil Ole Bitty Pissant Country Place, 24 Hours of Lovin', The Aggie Song, The Sidestep and Hard Candy Christmas. The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas opened on Broadway at the 46th Street Theatre on June 19, 1978 and ran for 1,584 performances. The production was directed by Peter Masterson and Tommy Tune and choreographed by Tune and Thommie Walsh. The opening cast included Carlin Glynn, Henderson Forsythe, Jay Garner, Joan Ellis, Delores Hall and Pamela Blair. Glynn and Forsythe won Tonys for their performances. A touring revival starred Ann-Margret and the film adaptation starred Dolly Parton, Burt Reynolds and Jim Nabors.

This hilarious stage show features elements from the classic cult horror films "Evil Dead 1," "Evil Dead 2," and "Army of Darkness," combined into one night of blood-spattering, zany, zombie fun.

Five college students go to an abandoned cabin in the woods, and accidentally unleash an evil force that turns them all into demons. It's all up to Ash (a housewares employee, turned demon-killing hero), and his trusty chainsaw to save the day.

Blood flies. Limbs are dismembered. Demons are telling bad jokes... and all to music.

The songs in the show are completely off the wall as well. Titles like "All the Men in My Life Keep Getting Killed by Candarian Demons" and "What the F*@k was That" will have you rolling in your seats, and screaming for more and more blood. You don't need to be a fan of Evil Dead to love this show. You don't need to be a fan of horror to love this show. You don't even need to be a fan of musicals to love this show. As long as you like having fun... this show is for you.

The tale of a recent college grad discovering love and his life's purpose in a colorful neighborhood of fabricated, fuzzy neighbors, Avenue Q entertains and enlightens with bouncy songs, sassy dialogue, and topical issues such as politics and bedroom mores. Cameo Theatre

An Egyptian art-deco style anchors the Cameo Theatre, luring wandering eyes with polychrome accents, gilt columns, and a sphinx that permits entry only after guests solve a riddle. A surviving artifact of the 1940s, the theater first opened as a home for vaudeville acts and movies but has since filled its stage with a diverse roster of legendary performers from B.B. King to Metallica, and it now regularly hosts theatrical productions.

The Cameo Theatre with Jonathan Pennington Studios are holding AUDITIONS for one of the most hilarious musicals of all time, AVENUE Q. AUDITIONS ARE BEING SCHEDULED NOW - Want to be a part of this zany laugh-out-loud, adult-themed spoof on Sesame Street ? Schedule your audition time NOW !

Dancers/Singers/Actors need to be in really good physical condition. Please note what we are looking for in the character breakdown below and more specific info will be given at the auditions.

Avenue Q is the story of Princeton, a bright-eyed college grad who comes to New York City with big dreams and a tiny bank account. He soon discovers that the only neighborhood in his price range is Avenue Q; still, the neighbors seem nice. There's Brian the out-of-work comedian and his therapist fiance Christmas Eve; Nicky the good-hearted slacker and his roommate Rod - a Republican investment banker who seems to have some sort of secret; an Internet addict called Trekkie Monster; and a very cute kindergarten teaching assistant named Kate. And would you believe the building's superintendent is Gary Coleman?!? Together, Princeton and his newfound friends struggle to find jobs, dates, and their ever-elusive purpose in life. The show is largely inspired by (and in the style of) PBS's Sesame Street, with several characters that are recognizably parodies of classic Muppet characters. Because of its adult content and "full puppet nudity" (including graphic simulated sex between puppets), Avenue Q may be inappropriate for children 12 years of age and under.

The production runs March 13 - April 14, 2013. Performances will be at the Cameo Theater, San Antonio - Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00pm, and Sundays at 4:00pm, although there will be a Thursday show on April 4. All rehearsals will be held at JP Studios location. Lead roles will receive a stipend at end of run.
