The Pirates of Penzance
by Gilbert and Sullivan
Directed by William McCrary
UTSA Department of Music - Lyric Theatre
University of Texas at San Antonio Department of Music, 6900 North Loop 1604 West

How did Gilbert and Sullivan follow the success of their maritime operetta featuring a crew of jovial sailors on board the HMS Pinafore? With another seaside opus of course! This time the cast of characters is set on the Cornish coast, and features tender-hearted orphaned pirates, a comely maiden (Bronwyn White) and a handsome, young apprentice, Frederic (Rafael Moras) under the rule of the Pirate King (Christopher Garcia). Frederic's lovesick nursemaid (Amanda Cullom) and the Major General Stanley (Donald Bayne) round out this cast of loyal Queen Victoria subjects!
