Funny, You Don’t Look Like A Grandmother, a humorous, heartwarming revue that looks at modern grandparents in a whole new light, is based on Lois Wyse’s best selling book by the same title. Sheilah Rae teams with Wyse on the book and lyrics, and the music is by Robert Waldman. Together they have crafted a funny and warm homage to granny-hood.

Funny, You Don’t Look Like A Grandmother watches grandmothers making the transition from granny glasses and Red Cross Shoes to cute little tennis dresses, skis and a condo in Florida, to say nothing of the world of laptops, cell phones and kick boxing. They work out, and step out in “Grandma’s Gotta Dance” and shop till they drop in “Plastic Grandmas.” They long for an “Old Style Grannie” to help with babysitting, and shoot from the hip with “There Oughta be a Law to Outlaw In-laws.” Sometimes they sing along with spouses, so Grandpa is included, as well as the expecting children, (the son and daughter). Whether you are a grandparent, a parent or a grandchild, every generation will love this show.

Featured in the cast are Annette Brown, Pat Vanderford, Linda Bradshaw, Barbara Calderaro, Karen Million, Julianne DeBower, Laurie Wright, Lee Dilday and Pat Stanford as grandmothers, Mick Carrier and Bill Walker as grandfathers, and Lana Hyche-King as the daughter. Some of the cast will play dual roles.
