Paramount Story Wranglers in Austin Seek Musical Directors



Story Wranglers, Paramount Theatre Austin TXStory Wranglers Paramount Theatre Austin TXThe Story Wranglers is a creative writing and performance program of the Paramount Theatre in which teaching artists go into 3rd grade classrooms and teach students the fundamentals of creative writing. After the program is finished, we take all the student’s stories and give them to professional actors and musicians to transform them into a musical/comedy/variety show.



This is where you come in. We are seeking Music Directors for our spring shows. Your duties would include: attending all rehearsals, writing and performing songs based on children’s stories, accompanying the skits in the show with music and attending the show. Reliable transportation is a must. Musical improvisation skills are strongly preferred.



There are 3 shows this spring ranging from March to May and rehearsal periods are fairly short. You will be compensated for your work.

San Antonio: Part-time Instructors Sought by Northside Performing Arts Center



Northside Performing Arts Center San Antonio TXNorthside Performing Arts Center seeks new instructors in acting, dance, musical theater and voice for ongoing classes. Our students range in age from 3-18. Location: 21518 Blanco Rd, Ste 101, San Antonio, Texas, 78260

We are looking for energetic self-starters with experience in teaching or performing. Our usual pay rate is $20/hour in the classroom. Most teachers will work between 4-6 hours a week. This is a part-time, contract pay position, but additional hours may be picked up working at our front desk.

Classic Theatre San AntonioDirector of Education - Job Posting- PART TIME CONTRACT


The Education Director is tasked with managing the Educational initiatives for the Classic Theatre. This includes coordinating all outreach to market the upcoming productions to high schools and colleges, facilitate student Thursday performances, write all coordinating study guides, facilitate post show talk backs, and manage any outreach workshop programs. The Education Director coordinates teacher events including continuing professional education workshops. The Education Director recruits and manages interns through the AIM High Internship/ Mentorship program. This position is tasked with pursuing funding sources for all education programs and implements the vision of the Classic founders for the current education initiatives and any future programs. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications Well-qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree and have experience in theatre and education. This position requires a candidate to be self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational skills. The Education Director must have persuasive writing, strong verbal communication skills, and the ability to lead group discussions and speak comfortably in front of large groups. Experience in non-profit administration, fundraising and grant writing is preferred. Candidates must have experience with word processing and spreadsheet software.

Opportunity: Zach Theatre Seeks Part-Time Graphics Designer


Zach Theatre Austin TXseeks Part-Time Assistant Graphic Designer, Department: Marketing

Designer works directly with ZACH’s Marketing Director and Art Director and also collaborates with Education and Development Departments. Responsible for projects, many of which will be focused on marketing ZACH’s theatrical productions with specific requirements regarding copy and elements that must be included on each piece.

Minimum Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related degree

Minimum Required Experience: 4+ years solid design and production experience in agency, non-profit or corporate business; Experience as a working freelancer is a plus

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of entire Adobe Creative Suite on Mac platform;
Strong layout skills and knowledge of style sheets
Ability to prepare files for press, ensuring proper color management and font usage
Photo editing skills including color correcting, clipping and combining
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Ability to make changes in a timely manner
Impeccable attention to detail
Ability to work independently
Strong communication skills
Copy writing and editing skills are a plus
Illustration skills are a plus
Knowledge of Dreamweaver, html and email marketing programs is a plus
Prior experience in a theatre environment is a BIG plus!

Essential Job Functions:
Projects range from ads to flyers, signs and ongoing program layouts, to audience guides, direct mail, brochures and more. Other assignments will focus on ZACH’s educational programing (classes, camps and shows for children) and on projects for the Development department (direct mail, capitol campaign materials, fundraising appeals and special events materials that include signage, flyers, invitations, etc.)

Layout/design postcards, direct mail, brochures, program inserts, forms, fliers etc. Copy, logos and essential graphic elements and a ZACH style guide will be provided and in many cases, templates or past pieces can be used as a starting point.

Projects will also include creating graphics for Z-Mails (ZACH’s weekly email to patrons) and modifying an HTML template to send out for proofing.

Other Information: Position requires 30 hours a week to ZACH projects, working on-site in the Marketing Department

Part-time Employment: Hill Country Community Theatre, near Marble Falls, from January, 2013


Hill Country Community Theatre TXNow Hiring!
The Hill Country Community Theatre in Cottonwood Shores near Marble Falls, TX, is looking for a part-time employee to work as a stage technician in support of theatre productions, specifically set construction, stage lighting and facility support. Successful candidate must have basic wood working skills and experience with shop equipment. No theatre experience is required. On-the-job stagecraft training will be provided. Minimum of 20 hours per week starting at $8.00 per hour.

Duties:
Set Construction - assist set designer and volunteer crews in the cutting and assembly of materials for platforms, scenery(flats and set pieces) and props
Lighting - assist the lighting designer and volunteer crews in the hanging of stage lighting instruments to include cabling and positioning of gels
Sound - assist sound technician and volunteer crews with maintenance and
inventory of microphones, mixers, amplifiers, speakers, headsets, etc.
Other - Marquee - Post and remove letters on exterior marquee as needed
Theatre Exterior and Interior - operate vacuum cleaner and leaf blower
Prop and Costume Storage Areas - assist in storage and inventory

Supervision and Training: Work under the direction of the Technical Theatre advisor from a prioritized list of tasks submitted by production set/light/sound designers.

Expectations:
Must be able to climb ladders to construct scenery, hang lighting instruments, gel frames and electrical cables.
Driver’s license preferred

Performance:
Employee will be evaluated periodically with potential salary raises based on performance. Areas will include attendance, timely completion of assigned tasks, ability to function unsupervised and willingness to learn
