Party on the Vanguard 2013! Fiesta en la Vanguardia! Salvage Vanguard Theaters Annual Fundraising Extravaganza.
Saturday October 19th join us for a ghostly celebration of Salvage Vanguard Theater and the eclectic and enigmatic arts programming of the east side! A day of the dead celebration! The party will be hosted by drop dead gorgeous local performer Jay Byrd, and acclaimed composer (in this realm and the next) Peter Stopschinski will DJ.

The price of admission includes:

ONE! The pleasure of viewing the artistic and sometimes morbid stylings of some of your favorite East Austin artists: Trouble Puppet Theater, Gnap! Theater Projects, Church of the Friendly Ghost.

TWO! A sneak peak of SVT’s haunting production of Andrea Thome’s Pinkolandia running at SVT Oct 17th- Nov 2nd. Plus! a sneak peak of Sibyl Kempson’s River of Gruel, an eerie SVT production in association with the spooky Rude Mechs, premiering at the Fusebox Festival in the spring of 2014.

What Show Awaits You? It's a Mystery... Get out of the cold and into one hot night in a Hidden Room somewhere inside 311 W. 7th Street, downtown Austin. Look for a shadowy figure at the door and give them the password "Invisible." Inside you'll be transported into a section of the world just outside of Invisible Inc.

Our annual Mystery Show fundraiser supports our ability to open the Hidden Room doors to more theatrical curiosities such as the award-winning Rose Rage, Taming of the Shrew Original Practices, and You Wouldn't Know Her. Enjoy hooch and hoofing, as you wonder at what entertainment may arise. Depression-era clothing is encouraged. Look for hints as to the Mystery Show's secrets. They are everywhere.

Starring the talents of Stephanie Delk, Djahari, Amara, Jack Darling, Toby Minor, Cami Alys, Shoulders, members of the cast from Invisible Inc, and more!

Running time approximately 90 minutes plus hot jazz into the night.

Come enjoy an evening of intimate performances by Graham Reynolds of the Golden Hornet Project, world-class violinist Roberto Paolo Riggio, and author Spike Gillespie. As the jubilee begins, Church of the Friendly Ghost will serenade us with a string trio. And in the spirit of a Marie Antoinette rager, powdered wigs and all, our hosts will lead us in titillating parlor games and other coiffured shenanigans. Hank Cathy of Digestible Feats has created our decadent specialty cocktail, and our cracker jack team from last year will provide the array of delicious eats!

Admission includes drinks, eats, entertainment and one raffle ticket!

The 2nd annual fundraising event returns to the downtown hotspot Rusty's Austin for an evening of food and entertainment to benefit the Wright House Wellness Center.


The 2nd annual Violet Crown Cotillion fundraising event returns to kick off Austin's Gay Pride weekend on Friday, September 21st, from 6 pm to 10 pm. Downtown hotspot Rusty's Austin will host the evening of food and entertainment to benefit the Wright House Wellness Center.

This year’s Violet Crown Cotillion features headline entertainers The Rough Riders, with special guest singers Anna Milk, Eric Dorton and One Ounce Opera. The evening also includes food and drinks, plus a large silent auction of items that include signed Broadway posters, performing arts tickets and artwork by local artists.

Admission to the Violet Crown Cotillion is a $5 suggested donation at the door. Rusty's Austin is located at 405 E. 7th Street, between Trinity and Neches. For more information, visit www.RustysAustin.com.

The 21st annual RED HOT Party returns the Warehouse District when Oilcan Harry's hosts the evening of entertainment on Friday, July 20th, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The summer social event is sponsored by Red Stag from Jim Beam and benefits Project Transitions to support AIDS and HIV education and prevention in Central Texas.

Each year, more than 600 Central Texans attend the RED HOT Party to experience four hours of live entertainment, great food from downtown restaurants and caterers, specialty cocktails and a huge silent auction. Guests will enjoy cuisine from Sushi Zushi, Mansion at Judge's Hill, Catering by Rose and Aesops Tables Catering, among others. 

The huge silent auction includes autographed Broadway posters, weekend get-aways, dinner and performing arts ticket combos, a Public D8 city touring bicycle from Mellow Johnny's and much, much more.

This year, guests will be entertained by the cast of Cabaret from City Theatre, along with performances by the Austin Babtist Women, Austin City Showgirls, Julie Nelson and her band and Grrlz Will Be Bois - along with surprise special guests. And for the first time this year, the event will include the "RED HOT Fashion Show," presented by Joie De Vie Salon & Spa, Bumble and Bumble, SHi Productions, You Do You Photography and Package Menswear.

For the past 21 years, Oilcan Harry's has hosted the annual RED HOT Party each July. To date, the community has helped raised more than $250,000 at the RED HOT Party to benefit Project Transitions.

Tickets at the Door: Sliding Scale $10 - $20 ($5 if you come in costume items made from recycled materials)

A handful of East Austin Theater's most creative designers will build outfits out of materials that could survive the apocalypse (rubber/plastic/non-food food items, etc), and model them at our party/ fashion show. One guest designer spot remains open for the wildest walk-up invention of the night.

This party is a preproduction event for Glass Half Full Theatre’s upcoming production The Orchid Flotilla. Enjoy drinks, music, & hors d’oeuvres while getting a sneak peek at scenic elements and found object shadow puppetry featured in the wildly inventive original work from the company that brought you FupDuck (2010), The Austin Puppet Incident (2011, and co-presented They Gotta Be Secret Agents Poste Restante (2011).

Glass Half Full Theatre features Puppetry & Physical Theatre of Objects and Ideas, based on the theatrical training of Jacques Lecoq.

Join VORTEX friends and family to celebrate VORTEX’s Annual Fire and Brimstone Awards, honoring our recent 23th season. For many years, VORTEX Producing Artistic Director, Bonnie Cullum, has given dozens of Fire Awards to honor artists and technicians for their achievements and Brimstone Awards to roast notable gaffs about which we can finally laugh. We are thrilled to welcome The Late Joys to play for our party!

In celebration of VORTEX’s 23 years of theatre in the Austin community, we gather together to remember a notable artistic year, our 23th Season, 2010-11: Vampyress, GAYlicious! Planet of The Mermaids, The Elementals: AIR, Footnotes for People Who Don’t Speak Spanish, Ecosexology, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enuf, LEAR, and Summer Youth Theater’s The Physicists, as well as the fabulous new addition of The Butterfly Bar.

Admission to the party is FREE. Donations are welcome. Come celebrate Friday, January 6th, 8:30pm to midnight with a fabulous spread in The Butterfly Bar. Cash bar.
